Deck to Patio conversion

In northwest Indiana, we rarely have reason to have a deck - why do you need to be elevated?  So your neighbors can see more of you and you further limit your privacy?  Most cases with flat yards, the answer is in a ground-level patio.  MUCH better looking too!!
